COOKEVILLE, Tenn. (AP) — The Tennessee Highway Patrol is searching for two men who fled after a trooper was shot Friday night along Interstate 40.
The trooper was in stable condition at a hospital, the Tennessee Highway Patrol said Friday night. The Highway Patrol asked the public for help in tracking down two men in a white Kia sedan, and included a photo of a man they later identified as 29-year-old Braze Rucker. The Kia was found early Saturday morning but the two men are still on the run, THP said in social media statements.
Rucker was added to Tennessee’s Most Wanted list on Saturday morning and is considered armed and dangerous, the Highway Patrol said. Investigators said both men have face tattoos.
The injured trooper is Adam Cothron, THP said Saturday. He was shot along Interstate 40 in Putnam County, about 80 miles east of Nashville.
Residents with information about Rucker or the other man are being asked to call 800-TBI-FIND.
