Sunday's impressive win against LSU vaults Florida State to No. 3 and Penn State rises two spots to No. 4 in the first updated USA TODAY Sports NCAA Re-Rank 1-133 of the 2023 season.
On the flip side, Clemson plummets from No. 4 to No. 25 after losing 28-7 at Duke. Given the team's expectations and the much-hyped changes on offensive behind a new coordinator, this loss might be the worst of the Dabo Swinney era.
Among other teams in the preseason top five, Ohio State is down two to No. 6 after struggling on offense in its opener against Indiana. Alabama sticks at No. 5 after an easy win against Middle Tennessee keyed by a very solid starting debut for quarterback Jalen Milroe.
Alabama might not stay behind the Seminoles and Nittany Lions for long. The Crimson Tide will host No. 11 Texas in the biggest game of Week 2.
Also climbing up the re-rank is No. 8 Utah, which stepped up four spots after beating Florida without starting quarterback Cam Rising. North Carolina climbed six to No. 14 after a solid win against South Carolina featuring another solid game from quarterback Drake Maye and a ferocious pass rush.

But the biggest move belongs to Colorado, which stunned TCU in Deion Sanders' first game. That gave the Buffaloes a 77-spot leap to No. 39 while the Horned Frogs dropped 17 to No. 47. CU next takes on No. 68 Nebraska in Sanders' home debut.
Other notable fallers include the No. 48 Gators (down 12), No. 57 Boise State (down 23) and No. 85 Baylor (down 36).
There's even a new No. 133 in the re-rank following Massachusetts' season-opening win against New Mexico State. The Minutemen have been replaced by Arkansas State, which lost 73-0 to No. 18 Oklahoma and is now 5-20 under third-year coach Butch Jones.
